A look back at Pooh’s timeless adventures

A.A. Milne’s Winnie-the-Pooh is one of the few children’s books to make my list. Pooh Bear is one of the most recognizable and cherished characters in history, and is certainly a favorite of mine. The books and movies are heart-warming, but teach good lessons, and Pooh and his friends always bring a smile to my face.

This is my first time reading the first book, the one that started it all in 1926, since I was a child myself. Most of the stories I still remember from heart, like Pooh riding a balloon up to a bee hive to steal honey, Pooh getting stuck in Rabbit’s hole after eating too much, Eyeore losing his tale, and Pooh and Piglet setting a trap for a Hefalump. The stories have a certain innocence of youth that you don’t find very much anymore, in either books or movies for kids, and make me think of simpler times. I continue to enjoy Pooh movies to this day, like 2017’s Goodbye Christopher Robin and 2018’s Christopher Robin. I encourage everyone to go out and read this book again, it brings back your childhood, and you can’t help but smile at Pooh Bear’s adventures.
